Interfaith Scholar Weekend, February 11-13, 2011: Rabbi Elliot Dorff
This year's featured scholar is Rabbi Elliot Dorff, Rector and Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at American Jewish University, and current Chair of the Conservative Movement's Committee on Jewish Law and Standards.
The topic will be "Matters of Life and Death: Jewish, Christian and Secular Approaches to Modern Medical Ethics," and will be based in part on one of Rabbi Dorff's many books.
Lectures start Friday evening at the Islamic Cultural Center, continue during the day on Saturday at Temple Beth Israel, and finish Sunday morning at Wesley United Methodist Church.
The Saturday event, includes breakfast, lunch, and both morning and afternoon lectures, requires registration along with a payment of $40 in advance, or $45 at the door. Students can attend for $10, and scholarships are also available.
