A Message from Rabbi Robert Ourach - UPDATED EVERY MONTH
Believe it or not, Spring will be here before we know it. We are already looking ahead to the new season and planning special events and programs. Among these special events is our annual Congregational Seder. Passover is one of the most important holidays in the Jewish year and, in fact, some studies suggest it is the most celebrated Jewish holiday by members of the Jewish community.
Passover is a holiday that is enhanced by families coming together to celebrate its significance, both past and present. This holiday, more than any other, commemorates our freedom as a People and our commitment to freedom for ourselves and for others. When we convene as a congregation to retell the story of Passover and review its meaning, we teach core values and instill in our hearts, and the hearts of our children, a sense of purpose for today and commitment for the future. Most things that are truly important cannot just be spoken about, but must be experienced.
I invite you to join us for this year’s Congregational Seder on Monday, March 29, 2010 at 6:00 pm, not only to share a beautiful meal, but also to strengthen personal ties to the Jewish past and to each other. By our actions, let us once again demonstrate to ourselves and our children a commitment to our Jewish future.
